LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
A Las Vegas man's slaying this week stemmed from an argument with his live-in girlfriend's son, who was later shot and killed by police, an arrest report revealed.
According to Las Vegas Metro police, Jason Baires, 23, was in a fight with Rodolfo Velasco-Bayardo, 50, over a traffic ticket issued against his mother when the slaying happened.
The details released Friday were revealed in an arrest report for Baires' friend Adam Williamson, 28, who is accused of being an accessory to the homicide.
The report said Baires used two hatchets to carry out the slaying and called on Williamson to help him purchase goods to clean his house and dispose of Velasco-Bayardo's body following the incident.
Police were called Tuesday to a home in the 4600 block of Stacey Avenue where Velasco-Bayardo's body was found as well as a dug-out grave in the residence's backyard.
Baires and Williamson were seen purchasing a large cooler, a chainsaw, charcoal and lighter fluid at a nearby K-Mart before police found the body, the report said. Most of those items were found at the scene.
Police also stated through an interview with Williamson that he had been at the scene, which was verified with spots of blood on his shoe, but not there when the slaying happened.
Baires was shot and killed hours following the incident when members of a Criminal Apprehension Team confronted him in the area of Michael Way and Washington Avenue.
Williamson was arrested after police reviewed security camera footage of he and Baires purchasing items in the slaying.
Williamson was arrested on the fact that he failed to contact police of the slaying even after being at the scene.
