Ultimate Fighting Championship star Alistair Overeem has been ordered to appear in Las Vegas Justice Court Feb. 11 after authorities said he shoved a woman in the face during an altercation at Wynn Las Vegas.
Metro police released details of the Jan. 2 incident on Tuesday.
Overeem, 31, was not arrested but was issued a citation for misdemeanor battery.
According to the citation, Overeem had been drinking when he pushed the woman, "causing her to stagger back."
Overeem's attorney, David Chesnoff, released a statement to FOX5 saying, "There are two sides to this story and we intend on vigorously defending this as Alistair maintains his innocence."
The fighter made his debut with the Ultimate Fighting Championship on Dec. 30, 2011, when he scored a TKO over Brock Lesnar in the first round of UFC 141 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
