Mesquite Balloon Festival celebrates first year

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

The Mesquite sky was filled with splashes of color, as bright hot air balloons floated beneath the clouds over the weekend.

The inaugural Mesquite Balloon Festival kicked off at the CasaBlanca Resort and Casino.

Two dozen participants came from Nevada, Utah, California and Arizona.

While some Saturday morning activities were canceled, many people enjoyed the "Night Glow," or the hot flames emanating from anchored balloons.

Six balloons were lit after sunset, creating a glow that could be seen for miles.
