More passengers flew in and out of Las Vegas' McCarran International Airport in 2011 than the year before, according to figures released Friday.
The Clark County Department of Aviation reported 41,479,498 passengers in 2011, which reflected a 4.3 percent increase from 2010, when about 39.7 million people passed through the airport.
In addition, December numbers increased year-to-year, with 3.2 million passengers flying through the airport. In December 2010, more than 3 million passengers flew through McCarran.
For the second straight year, Southwest Airlines was the busiest carrier at McCarran, followed by Delta, American, Allegiant and Continental/United, officials said.
