A man convicted in a drunk driving crash that killed another driver in downtown Las Vegas was sentenced to 12 years in prison.
Jacques Norton was also ordered Wednesday to pay a $2,000 fine and $1,200 in restitution on a charge of driving under the influence resulting in the death of Robert Childress, 52.
Norton was arrested in April 2010 after, according to police, he drove his PT Cruiser at a high-rate of speed eastbound on E. Charleston Boulevard and collided with Childress' Mercedes, which was turning on to westbound Charleston from northbound Main Street.
Norton is eligible for parole after 32 months in prison.
