Police searching for missing hiker at Red Rock

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Las Vegas Metro police have launched a search and rescue effort to find a hiker who went missing at the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area.

Ronald Kirk, 46, hasn't been seen since Jan. 16, when he went for a hike in Calico Basin. His family filed a missing person's report on Sunday.

Police said Kirk's Jeep was found in a parking lot.

His family has joined search teams on the ground, but police said a helicopter search has been suspended.
