    The Nevada Secretary of State says a petition to recall Las Vegas Ward 6 Councilman Steve Ross has met the minimum number of signatures required, setting up a possible special election early next year.
LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Voters registered in the recall election in Las Vegas' Ward 6 will have the opportunity to cast their ballot early.

Early voting is available through Friday at the following locations and times:

Friday, Jan. 27

  • Centennial Plaza (trailer), Centennial Center and Tropical Parkway, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.;
  • Albertsons, Craig Road and Decatur Boulevard, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Recall election day is scheduled for Monday, Jan. 31 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at all three places listed above.

Registered Ward 6 voters can also vote by mail. A written request for a mail ballot must be received by 5 p.m. next Tuesday. Mail ballot requests may be obtained from the Las Vegas City Clerk's Office, 400 Stewart Avenue, Las Vegas, Nevada 89101 or the Clark County Election Department, 965 Trade Drive, Suite A, North Las Vegas, Nevada 89030-7802.

Voters will determine if City Councilman Steve Ross will stay in office. Those who oppose him last month gathered enough signatures to force the recall election. Ross is in his second term.
