Junior Achievement of Southern Nevada and Diamond Resorts International are joining forces to teach 761 students at Dr. C. Owen Roundy Elementary School about how to build healthy financial habits.
As part of the JA in a Day initiative, volunteers from Diamond Resorts International will teach five essential lessons about key topics such as financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship in an intensive and effective one-day effort.
These lessons will be taught to students as young as kindergarten up to the fifth grade and are built to engage the students and encourage exploration.
The event will take place Friday Jan. 13 starting at 8:30 a.m. and running through 1:30 p.m. at Dr. C Owen Roundy Elementary School, it's located at 2755 Mohawk Street in Las Vegas.
This collaboration between Junior Achievement of Southern Nevada and Diamond Resorts International is a great way for employees to make a first-hand impression on students and make a personal connection with them in order to make a difference in their lives.
As positive role models, these volunteers will teach students at Roundy Elementary School key concepts about money management including saving, earning, entrepreneurship and more to help empower them to own their financial success.
Junior Achievement's hands-on, experiential programs teach the key concepts of financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship to young people in our community.
What is unique about the program is that it is curricula based and meets Nevada State standards and helps to educate and strengthen the future workforce of our community.
