Retailers ready for last minute holiday rush

Posted: Updated:
LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Opening at midnight on Black Friday was nothing compared to what retailers will do to lure customers on the final week before Christmas.

Businesses have adapted a whole new holiday schedule, one that eliminates the need for panic at the last minute.

Take Toys R Us, for instance. Stores nationwide opened at 6 a.m. on Tuesday and will remain open for 112 uninterrupted hours until 10 p.m. on Christmas Eve.

Fortunately for employees, they'll get some rest when the stores finally close for Christmas.

Most malls in Las Vegas, including Boulevard, Meadows and Galleria at Sunset, will be open until 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve and closed the next day.

But the Forum Shops at Caesars and Planet Hollywood's Miracle Mile shops will remain open through the holiday, which is customary for malls built inside resorts.

Are you a last minute shopper? FOX5 wants to know what you think of "over the top" holiday work schedules and whether it's worth it to shop early or late.
