LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Nevada's attorney general has filed a consumer fraud lawsuit against Jacksonville-based Lender Processing Services, a nationwide provider of mortgage and loan services.

The lawsuit accuses LPS of falsifying foreclosure-related documents, forging signatures, obstructing communication between foreclosure attorneys and their clients, and slapping illegal "attorney's fees" on invoices to consumers and courts.

A copy of the complaint was posted online.

Nevada Attorney General Catherine Cortez-Masto is asking anyone with information about the case to call her office at 702-486-3132.

Consumers can also file a complaint by sending a letter with copies of supporting documentation to:

Nevada Office of the Attorney General, Bureau of Consumer Protection

555 E. Washington Ave Suite 3900
