LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

A restaurant chain plans to give thanks to U.S. servicemen and women with a free meal on this Friday.

Applebee's has created a special Veterans' Day menu consisting of its signature entrees that will be offered free of charge to service members who serve or have served in the military.

The chain said it hopes to top the 1,024,000 free meals it served last year during the same day.

The special offer has been extended to veterans for two years already.

Applebee's said guests who want to take advantage of the offer will need to provide proof of service, which includes a U.S. Uniform Services Identification Card, U.S. Uniform Services Retired Identification Card, Current Leave and Earnings Statement, Veterans Organization Card, photograph in uniform or wearing uniform, DD214, Citation or Commendation.

There are 11 listed Applebee's locations in the Las Vegas Valley. You can find your nearest restaurant by visiting www.applebees.com.
