LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
Road crews are expected to begin the next phase in expanding lanes of the 215 Beltway in the north end of the Las Vegas Valley.
Clark County officials said the northern section of the beltway between Tenaya Way and Decatur Boulevard will be worked on to turn that stretch into a nonstop, four-lane freeway.
The project will force lane and road closures during certain periods. The project is scheduled to take 2-and-a-half years to complete.
Clark County also said the project will include new highway interchanges at Jones Decatur boulevards and a new bridge that will carry Bradley Road over the freeway.
Officials say traffic flow will be improved across the northern beltway with more than seven miles of nonstop freeway from just east of U.S. 95 to Losee Road.
