A foreclosure home in the valley is getting rehabilitated and will be given to a homeless veteran.
The Neighborhood Housing Services of Southern Nevada and Wells Fargo teamed up for the project. The bank donated the three bedroom, two bathroom home.
Several volunteer groups are helping over three weekends to make sure the house is ready to go for the family.
They're fixing things inside and out, and landscaping the yard.
A homeless veteran will be picked by the service and HUD. They hope to get the family in before Thanksgiving, "Our goal is to take a family in homelessness right now, down on their luck- not looking for hand outs- they're looking for a hand up, to assist them to get back on their feet," organizer Lenny Chide said.
Over the next few weekends volunteers will weatherize the home, give it new stucco, new cabinets and brand new energy efficient appliances.
Everything has been donated by local businesses and other community members.
