LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
Neighbors of a man charged with sexually assaulting and stabbing a Las Vegas girl told FOX5 the 19-year-old lived at home with a sister after their parents left town.
Javier Righetti had been living at a house near Durango and El Capitan for about a month, according to neighbors, who did not want to be identified. They said Righetti's parents moved back to Mexico -- taking a younger sister with them -- because they were unable to find work in Las Vegas.
Their father was a landscaper and the mother was a bus dispatcher before moving, neighbors said.
Righetti was arrested Monday night in connection to the death of Arbor View High School student Alyssa Otremba. Her burned body was found Saturday in a dirt lot near Oso Blanca Road and Grand Teton Drive.
Las Vegas Metro police said Righetti admitted to killing and confessed to another sexual assault after he was taken into custody.
Neighbors also told FOX5 that a 14-year-old neighbor had frequented the Righetti residence while the parents and the 15-year-old sister was in town.
Righetti had prior crimes on his record, but police did not specify what they were.
