CARSON CITY, NV (FOX5) -

The Carson City Sheriff identified a slain gunman who had shot at uniformed National Guard members, killing three, at a IHOP restaurant Tuesday.

Sheriff Kenny Furlong said the gunman, 32-year-old Eduardo Sencion, of Carson City, entered the restaurant around 9 a.m. and fired an AK-47 automatic rifle inside the eatery.

He shot a total of nine people including five National Guardsmen, Sheriff Furlong said. Three of the Guard members and another person died.

Sencion, who worked at his family's business in South Lake Tahoe, turned the gun on himself after the rampage and later died at a Reno hospital.

Furlong says Sencion arrived at the IHOP in a minivan registered to his brother.

No names of the victims or motive have been released.

Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval was in Las Vegas when the shooting happened, but was receiving regular updates on the shooting.

"The Governor and First Lady wish to extend their sympathy to the victims and their families," the statement read.
