A shooting that played out during the recording of a reality television show airs for the first time Tuesday night.
In April, a "Repo Games" crew was staged in a North Las Vegas neighborhood, when a resident left his home and fired a gun on crew members, according to police.
The program, which is carried on Spike TV, allows vehicle owners facing repossession to win back their car.
On the evening April 25, North Las Vegas Police said Damon Nelson and his wife played the game and won their car, but drama soon unfolded.
Spike TV provided FOX5 with a portion of the video. In one clip, a man is heard yelling at the cast and crew, before appearing on the street with a gun.
North Las Vegas Police said Nelson was school teacher Carlos Barron Middle School.
Police added that Nelson was unaware Spike TV was recording a reality show on his street, and that he was angry a van was parked in front of his home.
The Repo Games host remembered the moment the suspect came out. He said: "All of a sudden this dude stepped back like 5 or 6 feet, (and) pulls out a gun!"
The cast, crew and contestants were seen running for their lives when they realized the suspect was armed, and firing several shots.
North Las Vegas Police said when they tried to contact Barron, he barricaded himself inside a home. Officers said after a two hour standoff Barron left a rear window, and tried to run. He was taken into custody with the help of a K-9 dog.
Neighbor Lachele Gandy remembers that night well.
"The whole thing is crazy," Gandy said. "I mean, the name of our street is Vigilante. When we moved here we thought, okay, crazy (street) name, but nothing happened here until this."
Gandy's Husband, Sleep Kennard, agreed. He also said it will make for some good television, "I've been waiting to see this! It's my street, how am I not going to watch?"
Barron is facing multiple charges including: Assault with a deadly weapon, Discharging a firearm, and Attempted murder with a deadly weapon. His trial is scheduled for early August.
No one was hurt in the shooting.
Because the case is ongoing, the cast and crew of Repo Games are not allowed to talk.
