Automatic sprinklers saved a downtown business from serious damage, according to Las Vegas fire investigators.
Firefighters responded to calls of smoke coming from the Artistic Iron Works building at Charleston Boulevard and Commerce Street just after 11:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Crews found the fire on the bed of a company service truck, but officials said the automatic fire sprinklers put out the flames in less than one minute.
Damage was estimated at less than $2,500 and confined to a small area on the bed of the truck.
Fire officials said the business would be able to open on time Wednesday.
