U.S. Energy Secretary to tour North Las Vegas manufacturing plant

U.S. Energy Secretary Steven Chu will travel to North Las Vegas Thursday to tour CPV solar power systems manufacturing plant Amonix.

Amonix received $5.9 million through the Manufacturing Tax Credit to build low-cost solar electricity systems.

The new $18 million facility, finished earlier this year, created 135 construction jobs and currently employs more than 300 people.

Amonix is located at 4975 North Pecos Rd. in North Las Vegas.
