Gina Traficant is a health and fitness expert who promotes a balanced lifestyle that includes exercise and nutrition. As someone who was always the smallest one in her classes and the worst sports player Gina was determined to overcome "being the last one selected" when captains were picking their teams. Gina started working out in the gym before she could drive, often times the ONLY female in the free weight room. Soon after, she was the youngest person to be hired to teach aerobics here in Las Vegas.
Gina earned her Sport and Fitness Management degree from UNLV and then became certified by the American College of Sports Medicine. While in college she was one of three interns selected from all over the United States to intern with Coors Brewing Company in Golden, CO in their employee health and wellness center. While there, Gina created employee fitness programs, coached participants on the annual Ride the Rockies cycling event through the Rocky Mountains, and conducted fitness testing under cardiologist Dr. H.L. Brammell.
Gina relocated to Los Angeles where she worked as a personal trainer at the Mid Valley Athletic Club. There she was spotted by a casting director who invited her to try out for the Discovery Health Channel's Fitness Fantasy TV show. The program followed individuals who wanted to get back into shape after a serious injury or illness. Gina landed it and was one of the personal trainers highlighted on the program. She has also been seen training on FitTV. After moving her business to the Toluca Lake Tennis Club and Sports Center, Gina had the privilege of training all types of clients from the stay-at-home mom trying to balance kids, homework, while getting in shape to clients wanting to look and feel their best walking the red carpet and everyone in-between. During this time Gina also managed several corporate employee fitness programs for companies (Pacific Bell/SBC, Prudential, and Zenith Insurance) wanting to increase employees' health and fitness levels while decreasing healthcare costs.
After many years in LA, Gina was one the move again and relocated back to Las Vegas where she trains fitness clients (her clients range from beginners to other fitness professionals), writes health and fitness articles, and teaches healthy cooking demos. Being in the fitness industry for over two decades she incorporates park boot camps, weights, yoga, spin, pilates, dance, and water sports as part of her client routines so they never get bored. When training clients she allows clients to vent their frustrations while keeping their heart rates up during their workouts so when they walk out the door they feel like they couldn't get a better workout anywhere else. Her fitness philosophy is, "When it comes to your own fitness level, don't compete against others but don't be afraid to compete against yourself."
