Dave HallDave joined FOX5 in March 2002 as the weekday sports anchor on FOX5 News at 10, and was recently promoted to news anchor for FOX5 News This Morning.
Being back in Las Vegas is a homecoming for Dave.
"I went to UNLV my freshman year in college. It was the same year the Rebels lost to Duke in the national semi-finals. I believe that UNLV team was the best college basketball team of all time. The loss was devastating; that was one of the worst nights of my life."
Dave regrouped and eventually graduated from the University of Nevada with a degree in broadcast journalism. He spent five years at KRNV in Reno, the last two as sports director. The move to Las Vegas was a no-brainer.
"I know the city, I know the sports scene and I love living here. It was the best possible move I could've made."
Dave has had experience covering virtually every major sporting event, including the Olympics, NBA playoffs, NFL, MLB and championship boxing events. So what are his favorites sports to cover?
"Tough question, but I'll pick two. High school football on Friday nights and a big fight. You just can't beat the pure enthusiasm and pageantry of high school football. And there's nothing like a big-time fight, you can literally feel the electricity in the air."
Dave is married to his college sweetheart Bianca and they have two children: a daughter, Jazz, and "our chocolate lab, Quincy."
