Heidi Fleiss Escapes Fire At Nevada Home 11-25-2010

Former Hollywood madam Heidi Fleiss escaped a fire that damaged much of her Pahrump home on Thursday morning.
The 44-year-old didn't want to speak to FOX5 on camera, but said she was unharmed and managed to escape with several birds she cares for at the house.
Fleiss said the fire started in a chimney, which lacked a spark arrestor, a device that prevents sparks from escaping into other parts of the home.
Firefighters did not immediately confirm Fleiss's account of the fire or provide an estimate of the damage.
Fleiss moved to southern Nevada in the mid-2000s and immediately drew national media attention when she announced plans to open a brothel catering to women.
That plan never came to fruition, but Fleiss eventually opened a Laundromat named Dirty Laundry in Pahrump and a pet grooming business in Henderson.
Fleiss also made headlines earlier this year when she called police to report a suspicious person outside of her home. That person turned out to be then-Nye County District Attorney Bob Beckett, who was charged with drunken driving.
