Phillies OF Victorino In Game 6 Lineup Vs. Yankees

POSTED: 3:21 pm PST November 4, 2009

(Sports Network) - Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Shane Victorino was inserted into his normal center field and second spot in the team's lineup for Wednesday's Game 6 of the World Series against the Yankees.

Victorino was hit with a pitch on his right index finger by A.J. Burnett in the first inning of Game 5, forcing him to leave the game in the eighth inning after clearly favoring the injury. He scored after advancing to first on the hit-by-pitch but did not reach base in his three subsequent at-bats.

X-rays were taken during the game, showing that he did not suffer a broken bone. The injury was called a bruise.

Victorino is batting .296 in the 2009 playoffs with three homers and nine runs batted in.

Other lineup changes include Raul Ibanez becoming the team's designated hitter, while Ben Francisco will bat eighth and play left field. Catcher Carlos Ruiz moves from eighth in the lineup to ninth.

Heading into Game 6, the Yankees hold a 3-2 series lead.
