LAS VEGAS -- An autistic teenager who's been called a hero for years was in Las Vegas Wednesday night giving some inspiration to the Runnin' Rebels.Jason McElwain is most known for scoring 20 points in one game at his New York High School.He's known as J-Mac to his friends, and on a night more than two years ago, he was pulled from his team manager duties and sent on the court to play.With just a few minutes left in the game, J-Mac hit basket after basket, quickly becoming the highest scorer in the game.It was the only game he ever played in. Now, he's getting to practice with the Rebels.“It's a dream come true to come to Las Vegas, casino town, UNLV Runnin' Rebels, who have been in the tournament. Coach Kruger, best in college basketball … Dream come true," J-Mac said.J-Mac is going to be honored at half time of the Rebel game Thursday.He'll spend time with parents of autistic children as well.
