Summer 2008 Backyard BBQ Sweepstakes
  1. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN.
  2. To enter, complete the registration and entry form (name, address, daytime phone number, age and e-mail address) and submit on-line at FOX5VEGAS.com There is no cost to register or enter. Sweepstakes begins May 1, 2008 and ends July 11, 2008. Entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, May 14th, May 21st, May 28th, June 4th, June 11th, June 18th and July 2nd to be eligible for each weekly drawing. All non-winning entries will carry over for the duration of the Backyard BBQ Sweepstakes. One entry per household/e-mail address.
  3. Entrants must be legal residents of NV and 21 years of age or older at time of entry. Additionally, KVVU must be able to send/receive a quality satellite signal from each winner's outside area. Signals from the winners' yards will be tested prior to confirming the BBQ. Employees of KVVU, Meredith Corporation, Memphis Championship BBQ, their agents, affiliates, subsidiaries and members of their immediate families or persons residing in the same household are not eligible. Winners of a prize from KVVU within the past thirty (30) days from the beginning date of this sweepstakes are not eligible.
  4. One (1) winner will be selected from all eligible entries received on or about Wednesday, May 14th, May 21st, May 28th, June 4th, June 11th, June 18th and July 2nd, under the supervision of KVVU and will be notified by phone and/or email. All decisions of KVVU regarding winner selection and this sweepstakes are final. KVVU is not responsible for lost, late, or misdirected entries. KVVU is not responsible for error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operations or transmission, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to or alterations of entry materials, or for technical, network, telephone, computer, hardware or software malfunctions of any kind, or inaccurate transmission of, or failure of KVVU to receive entry information on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or the Web site or any combination thereof. KVVU also is not responsible for any injury or damage to entrant's or any other's computer related to or resulting from entering the sweepstakes. KVVU reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel sweepstakes if it becomes technically corrupted or because of non-authorized human intervention. In the event of cancellation, the prizes will be awarded by a random drawing from among all eligible entries received up to the date of cancellation. In the event of a dispute regarding the identity of the person submitting an electronic entry, the entry will be deemed submitted by the person whose name the corresponding e-mail account is registered to. All entries become the property of KVVU and will not be returned.
  5. Seven (7) prizes will be awarded. Each winner will receive a Backyard BBQ prize package catered by Memphis Championship BBQ, including food to serve 15 people, retail value $750; and a Memphis Championship BBQ prize pack retail value $100. FOX5 News will broadcast live from each winner's home on the day of the Backyard BBQ . Backyard BBQ dates are as follows: Thursday, May 22nd, Friday, May 30th, June 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th and July 11th. Winners must be available for the BBQ date selected and if unavailable, prize will be forfeited and awarded to an alternate winner. Alcohol is prohibited during the BBQ. One prize per household. KVVU reserves the right to substitute prizes of equal or greater value if prizes cannot be awarded as described. Prizes may not be assigned, transferred, changed or redeemed for cash, except at the discretion of KVVU.
  6. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.
  7. Entry constitutes permission for KVVU to use winner's name, hometown, likeness, photograph, voice and statements regarding this sweepstakes for editorial, public relations, promotional and advertising purposes on behalf of KVVU and Meredith Corporation without compensation unless prohibited by law. Winner, and where applicable, travel companion, will be required to sign an Affidavit of Eligibility and Release of Liability/Publicity unless prohibited by law, within two days of notification. If a selected winner cannot be contacted, fails to claim prize, fails to comply with all rules, is unable to travel on dates of prize or attend event on prize date or fails to respond to the winner notification, the selected winner is disqualified and the prize is forfeited. If forfeited, another winner will be selected from among the eligible entries by random drawing. Subject to all U.S. federal, NV state and local laws and regulations. Void where prohibited. Applicable taxes are the sole responsibility of the winners. Winners will be issued 1099 tax forms in the amount of the prize retail value as stated herein.
  8. By participating and winning a prize, winners release KVVU, Meredith Corporation and Memphis Championship BBQ, their parents, affiliates, subsidiaries and agents, and their respective officers, directors, employees and agents from any and all liability or responsibility for any claim arising in connection with participation in the sweepstakes or any prize awarded.
