LAS VEGAS -- There was one question the defense wasn't allowed to ask would-be O.J. Simpson trial jurors.Potential jurors can't be asked if they think Simpson is a killer.Jurors underwent a thorough screening Monday. Jury selection took all day and will continue Tuesday.Simpson, along with co-defendant Clarence Stewart, is accused of robbing two sports memorabilia dealers at the Palace Station last September.FOX5 political analyst Bob Massi said once the 12 jurors and six alternates are in place, both defendants and prosecutors will battle it out.Though he said it could come down to "McClinton testifying, saying he knew there was a gun, and the fact he shows there was a gun."Simpson is facing a host of charges including felony kidnapping, armed robbery and conspiracy. The trial could go deep into October, but Judge Jackie Glass is hoping the trial lasts no longer than five weeks."People don't want to be here. It takes time away from jobs. It takes time away from family," Glass said. Both Simpson and Stewart arrived separately.Simpson could serve life in prison with parole. On Monday, Glass eliminated more than half of the possible jurors.Any attempt to bring up Simpson’s past was shut down immediately. For more information on the Simpson case, visit the case's special section or view the national coverage.
