It is crunch time for the presidential candidates with the Nevada caucus just two days away.

Democratic candidate Sen. Barack Obama rallied for support at Rancho High School in North Las Vegas on Thursday.

FOX 5 News talked with Obama about his strategy to win the tightly contested race and what he has to offer Nevada voters.

"I want to close tax breaks on the wealthiest and I want to make sure ordinary people get an offset on payroll tax and get $1,000 every year," said Obama.

Obama mapped out his plans from fixing the economy to universal health care.

"I want to work to lower premiums by $2,500 a year and emphasize prevention," said Obama.

The democrat hopeful told FOX 5 News that he was pleased with the outcome of the recent lawsuit allowing strip shift workers to caucus at special casino precincts.

"I'll never understand why people who set this up six days before were going to disenfranchise working people," said Obama.

Obama also shot down his opponents, who said he doesn't have enough experience to be president.

"I've got 20 years of experience on every level of government," said Obama.

He pointed to his approach as a measure of his success.

"My hallmark has been to bring Republicans and Democrats together to get things done and push back against the special interest that dominates Washington. Those are the experiences and qualities I think we need for the next president," said Obama.

FOX 5 News asked how he dealt with the constant attention and questions about his background.

"I'm a Christian that has always represented politics beyond race division. I've got a white mother in Kansas so my background is a melting pot," said Obama.

Obama said he recognized that it is going to take a lot of hard work to win the Nevada caucus.

"If people in Nevada feel the same way so many do across the country -- that we need to fundamentally change how Washington works -- I think I am they're best choice," said Obama.

Obama said he is taking time off on Thursday night to take his wife to dinner for her birthday. But on Friday, he off to Reno, Elko and then back to Las Vegas in the evening.
