Seattle Places Center Spencer On IR

POSTED: 1:29 pm PST December 3, 2008

(Sports Network) - Seattle Seahawks center Chris Spencer was placed on injured reserve Wednesday.

Spencer started all 11 games played this season, and 35 consecutive, before being sidelined with a back injury during the game at Dallas on November 27.

The 26th overall pick in the 2005 draft, Spencer has played in 52 career games with 40 starts.

Filling Spencer's spot will be Na'Shan Goddard, formerly of the New York Giants practice squad.

Goddard was signed as undrafted rookie free agent in May, 2006 by the Giants. He also spent time on the New York Jets roster, but never played. He was re- signed by the Giants this offseason on February 6, before finally landing in Seattle.
