After graduating from the University of Southern California, John Huck started his career in Scottsbluff, Neb., and Rapid City, S.D. From there, John moved to Indianapolis where he joined the founding news team of Fox 59. While in Indianapolis, John covered the rape trial of boxer Mike Tyson.

Over the next five years, John covered many national stories including the Oklahoma City bombing, the O.J. Simpson murder trial, the Olympic Park bombing, the U.S. military intervention in Haiti and a number of hurricanes and floods. Although a native of Chicago, John missed the West and returned to Los Angeles in 2000.
