FOX5 News At 5, 5:30 & 10 Anchor

After graduating from the University of Southern California, John Huck started his career in Scottsbluff, Neb., and Rapid City, S.D. From there, John moved to Indianapolis where he joined the founding news team of Fox 59. While in Indianapolis, John covered the rape trial of boxer Mike Tyson.

Nine months after moving to Indianapolis, John was hired in 1992 by CNN as a Headline News anchor and correspondent. Over the next five years, John covered many national stories including the Oklahoma City bombing, the O.J. Simpson murder trial, the Olympic Park bombing, the U.S. military intervention in Haiti and a number of hurricanes and floods. John was also anchoring Headline News when the Northridge earthquake struck in January of 1994, keeping him on the air for hours bringing viewers the latest information.

In January of 1997, John joined WPGH in Pittsburgh as the primary anchor. The Associated Press named it "Best Newscast."

Although a native of Chicago, John missed the West and returned to Los Angeles in 2000. He worked as a reporter for KCBS-TV and hosted a number of installments of "Destination Danger" on the Travel Channel. Since coming to Las Vegas in 2002, John has received Emmy and EMA nominations for both his reporting and anchoring.

John is an accomplished masters swimmer, often competing in meets around the country. Every November, he swims 2.4 miles as part of a relay team that competes in the Silverman Triathlon in Henderson. He also enjoys skiing, mountain biking, golf and hiking with his dog, Aspen.
