Reporter Quyen Chung was born and raised in Orange County, Calif., and was bitten by the news bug after interning for Fox11 in Los Angeles.Quyen moved across the country for her first TV job in Hagerstown, Md. She anchored and produced the morning newscasts in the four-state region. After getting a taste of snow and below-freezing temperatures, Quyen headed back west to Bakersfield, Calif., for her next job.After covering the 2004 presidential election and the historical recount controversy, she then moved to Las Vegas. She joined the FOX5 News team in July 2006.Quyen has covered some memorable and historic events as a general assignment reporter for FOX5. She has followed the Democratic presidential candidates since the winter of 2007, as well as the first presidential forum of the 2008 election.
Quyen was also at the courthouse to cover the O.J. Simpson armed robbery case, from his arrest on a Sunday afternoon. But she said her most memorable story was covering the search for Chester Stiles -- the man who, police said, assaulted a little girl and videotaped it. Quyen worked closely with Pahrump investigators for nearly a week until they identified Stiles.In her spare time, Quyen loves to indulge in reality television shows, practice yoga and vacation near a beach.
