Pilot Said Plane Ran Out Of Fuel

POSTED: 2:19 pm PDT March 15, 2010

An Arizona man was identified Monday as the pilot killed in a small plane crash Friday in Boulder City.

Brett Beuckens, 45, had taken off from Deer Valley Airport in Phoenix and was headed to the Henderson Executive Airport.

As he flew over Lake Mead, Beuckens radioed for help, saying the plane had run out of fuel. He attempted to reach Boulder City’s airport but crashed east of the runways.

The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the crash.
