LAS VEGAS -- A majority of respondents to a FOX5 Web poll said they want to see the Clark County School District split up.The poll was posted following a March 5 interview with Superintendent Walt Rulffes and closed Friday morning.Out of 1,235 responses, 61 percent voted yes and 29 percent voted no. The rest didn’t know. When asked about the idea of splitting Clark County schools into smaller districts for Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, Henderson, etc., Rulffes said it would mean more agility, but also increased costs. He said there hasn’t been significant evidence it would lead to improvements in southern Nevada. However, Rulffes wasn’t opposed to the idea.“I think if there was a good study done and the people want to break it up, let the people decide,” he said.FOX5 wants to know what you think. The Web poll is closed but you can still sound off on THE RANT.
