LAS VEGAS -- A driver accused of hitting at least one vehicle while he was drunk and fleeing the scene then ran across a street and was struck by a truck, police said.

The collision occurred at about 1:12 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of West Flamingo Road and South Wynn Road. The pedestrian was in critical condition Thursday night, Metro police said.

Dusan Stupar, 59, of Las Vegas, was running from the center median of Flamingo Road to the north sidewalk when he was struck by a Nissan pickup truck being driven by Michael Hall, 37, police said.

Police said Stupar was not in a marked crosswalk, and after he was hit, he landed on the sidewalk. Stupar was transported to UMC Trauma Center with life-threatening injuries.

The collision remains under investigation by Metro’s accident investigation section.
