LAS VEGAS -- Local plastic surgeons are taking issue with a possible tax on cosmetic surgeries.Dubbed the "Bo-tax," it is being considered as part of the new health care bill. The 5 percent tax would be aimed at procedures like Botox injections, liposuction, breast augmentation and even teeth whitening.Dr. Lane Smith, with the Nevada Institute for Plastic Surgery, said many people think cosmetic surgeries are only for the rich -- who can afford the tax.Smith said most plastic surgery is restorative -- either physically or mentally.
