LAS VEGAS -- A bank robbery ended in an arrest Monday after an alleged robber lead Metro police on a chase that ended abruptly when the robber crashed into a tree, Metro police said.The robbery occurred at about 1 p.m. at the Chase Bank at Tropicana and Eastern avenues, police said.Police said the man robbed the bank after slipping a note to a teller. They said he did not have a gun.As the robber left the bank, some residents said they saw him get into a pickup truck and flee.After the witnesses called police, a chase began.The chase ended downtown at 15th Street and Mesquite, where police said the man crashed his truck into a tree.Police said they arrested the man, who had a prior record of bank robberies.
