Two young men charged in the killing of a Las Vegas Metro police officer were due in court Monday as authorities pursued charges against more suspects, bringing the total to five.

The latest arrests came Sunday night when 18-year-old Quadrae Scott and 18-year-old Emmitt Ferguson were taken into custody.

Scott is charged with murder, attempted robbery and conspiracy. Ferguson is charged with accessory to murder.

They’re being held at the North Las Vegas Detention Center, alongside three other suspects: 18-year-old Prentice Marshall, 20-year-old Saul Williams Jr. and an unnamed 17-year-old who will be charged as an adult.

All five are suspected gang members.

Marshall and Williams will face a judge via video teleconference Monday morning. They were arrested Nov. 20, less than 24 hours after Officer Trevor Nettleton was found shot to death in the garage of his North Las Vegas home.

Authorities said Nettleton was killed during a botched robbery and Marshall was injured when the group exchanged gunfire.

Police said they have recovered the gun used in the killing, although it’s unclear who pulled the trigger.

Marshall and the 17-year-old have also been linked to the armed robbery of an 18-year-old less than hour before Nettleton’s death.
