LAS VEGAS -- The funeral plan for James “Bucky” Buchanan, a criminal defense attorney who became more famous than many of his clients, was announced Tuesday.

Buchanan’s funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday at Palm Mortuary at 1325 N. Main St. in Las Vegas.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking people to make donations to the UNLV Foundation for the Academic Scholarship Fund.

Police said the 74-year-old suffered a “medical episode” last weekend while backing his Ferrari into his driveway.

During his career, Buchanan worked as a FOX5 legal analyst and even starred in his own reality show, “Las Vegas Law.”

Buchanan was a U.S. Naval Academy graduate who also served as a university system regent, contributed to charity and fundraising efforts, and was part-owner of several restaurants.
