North Las Vegas police said they chased a man with a gun on foot and caught him after he attempted to rob a Quiznos Monday night.

The attempted robbery occurred in the 6300 block of Simmons, and NLV police spokeswoman Chrissie Coon said police think the man threw a gun onto the top of a business in the shopping mall before he was caught.

Helicopters were searching for the gun as robbery detectives investigated the scene.

Both Metro and NLV police said they believe the man is a high-profile robbery suspect that they had combined efforts on by putting out fliers with the man’s photos on them.
