Elvis-Themed Cirque Show Gets A Name

LAS VEGAS -- With a little more than one month until the opening of CityCenter’s ARIA hotel-casino, Cirque du Soleil producers have announced a title for the resort’s resident show.The Elvis Presley-themed production will be named, appropriately, “Viva Elvis.” The show’s Web site launched with photos and video of the cast, although tickets have not yet gone on sale.“Viva Elvis” will be staged in a 2,000 seat theater inside ARIA, which opens to the public Dec. 16. It will be the seventh resident Cirque show in Las Vegas.ARIA’s debut will follow the openings of several other CityCenter properties: Vdara on Dec. 1, Crystals on Dec. 3 and the Mandarin Oriental Las Vegas on Dec. 4.
