LAS VEGAS -- Metro police homicide detectives are investigating the death of a man who was being held by officers following a fight near downtown Las Vegas.Police were called to break up the fight between two roommates, one of whom was allegedly armed with a knife.The officers said one of the men, 47-year-old Daniel Morantes, was screaming, yelling and would not calm down. An ambulance crew was called after Morantes was subdued, but he stopped breathing before paramedics arrived.Morantes died later at Sunrise Medical Center.Police said there were no immediate signs as to the cause of death. That determination will be made by the Clark County Coroner.
