Two motorcyclists that collided with a car Wednesday night were riding on their rear tires before the impact, Las Vegas Metro police said Wednesday.

One of the motorcyclists, a 22-year-old was killed in the accident. His 20-year-old friend, Allen Blunk, was rushed to University Medical Center in critical condition.

Both men collided with a car that pulled in front of them at the intersection of Sahara Avenue and Edmond Street. Blunk’s motorcycle then slammed into another vehicle, injuring the 61-year-old driver.

It was the second deadly motorcycle accident in Las Vegas this week.

Monday night a 27-year-old man was killed after speeding through an intersection and colliding with a car pulling into a private drive near Nellis Boulevard and Stewart Avenue.

Police said the motorcyclist sped up at the intersection to avoid an ambulance that was driving through with its lights and sirens on.
