Video: New Interchange Opening Near Galleria MallCity leaders plan to celebrate the opening of the new Galleria Driver Interchange with all the fanfare of a World Series victory. There will be speeches from politicians, church leaders and even a salute from the Green Valley High School drum line during the Tuesday morning celebration. The interchange won't open until Wednesday. When it does open, it will allow drivers to exit Interstate 515 at Galleria Road, putting them on a straight path to the mall and avoiding the crowded exit ramps at Russell and Sunset Roads. The project, which took 18 months to complete, cost $66 million.
