THE RANT

TOPIC: H1N1 Vaccine

NAME: Heather

RANT: I'm all for doing what is best for the safety of a person, but I am appalled by how most people are just fine getting something injected into them because the government tells them to. Just because the government tells you something is safe, that doesn't mean that it is. There has been no case study on the effects of this vaccine, and the pamphlet that comes with the injectable vaccine states that it should not be given to children under 4 years, and only given to pregnant women if absolutely necessary, yet these groups are classified as "high risk," and they should receive it ASAP. People, get it if you think you need it, but PLEASE inform yourself of what you are going to inject into you and your family first -- don't turn into a mindless robot!

TOPIC: Booting Cars Near Hard Rock

NAME: Kerry

RANT: A few years ago I attended an outdoor concert at the Hard Rock and used their parking garage. After the concert the hotel chose to allow the roadies to block the exit to the garage in order to dismantle the stage. I, along with everyone else that night, was trapped in the garage for 2 hours. I could not even get my vehicle out of the parking space! When I called the Hard Rock I was told by security there was nothing they could do. I ended up taking a cab home!

My friend parked at CVS and was home in 30 minutes.

Concertgoers should not park in adjacent lots, but Metro should look into how the Hard Rock plans and manages parking for their events. I will never attend a concert at the Hard Rock again.

TOPIC: Las Vegas Way of Life

NAME: Ron

RANT: I just don't get it. A lot of the population here is from other areas of the U.S, which makes up a lot of the work force and homeowners here in the Valley. We came here for a better life, but are struggling harder than ever to survive living in this state. I'm originally from Massachusetts, which is one of the most costly places to live, but I never lost my job and my home. Instead of building a new City Hall that this city really doesn't need, wasting millions of dollars on, just so the mayor can put his name on it, how about take the money and help those who have helped make this city grow by giving back rather than taking away? Looks like I'll be moving.

TOPIC: New Arena

NAME: Jeff

RANT: It seems that our public officials just cannot step away from the spending concept. Our mayor now wants to build a sports arena when the economy is at rock bottom. Mayor Goodman would build this monolith in an area where no one will go, for a team no one will support and with money that will ultimately come out of the taxpayers’ pockets. He just couldn't get over the fact that reinventing downtown was a failure and he needs a new legacy for Las Vegas. Mayor, just get over it and settle for your name immortalized in the Mob Museum.

TOPIC: Henderson Police

NAME: Dave

RANT: To the Henderson cop who came flying up behind me on Horizon Ridge and Green Valley Parkway at about 6 p.m. and then proceeded to tailgate me for a few moments, and then swerved into the other lane and flew by at least 30 mph over the speed limit, you have something called sirens. If you are in that much of a hurry, put your emergency lights on and I will gladly get out of your way. All we need is another officer-involved car wreck involving a cop car going way too fast.
