LAS VEGAS -- The Palo Verde shooter has been sentenced to life in prison.Gerald Davison pleaded guilty to killing 15-year-old Christopher Privett in a drive-by shooting. On Monday, the victim's family faced their son's killer. The family said it was still just as devastated as it was when Privett was shot and killed a year and a half ago. Privett was an athlete and a good student with a bright future before Davison took it away.“First off Privett family, I don't know how to apologize for taking your son's life away. Sorry ain't going to cut it, but that's all I can tell … sorry," Davison said in court.Video:

He will be eligible for parole after 28 years.Video:
Girlfriend Of Accused Shooting Suspect TestifiesDavison pleaded guilty to killing Privett in February 2008 as the Privett and some friends were walking home form Palo Verde High School. Davison was 16 when he pulled the trigger.“It's so hard to understand why Gerald Davison thought it was OK to aim a gun at four teenagers just minding their own business and walking home from school and start shooting," said Chris’ mother, Barbara Privett. “We are all living in the aftermath of someone else’s senseless, foolish, murderous act.”Now, Privett's father said he wonders every day what his son might have achieved.“There are so many might-have-beens, so many could-have-beens -- sports achievements, school achievements, friends’ days, high school graduation, college graduation -- perhaps a wedding, perhaps kids, perhaps a career -- the might-have-beens haunt me," said Chris’ father, Michael Privett.Ezekial Williams was also in the car with Davison. A few months ago, he pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter with a deadly weapon and accessory to murder because he handed the gun to Davison. He's serving 8 to 20 years in prison for his role in the shooting.Video:
