Visitation services will begin Tuesday afternoon for Las Vegas Metro police Officer Miburn Beitel, who died Thursday following a fiery rollover crash on the city's east side.

Police said the service, at Palm Mortuary on 1325 N. Main St., will be followed by a short prayer vigil. It is not open to the public.

Beitel will be laid to rest in Green Valley Wednesday following funeral services and a police procession through the valley.

Metro police have not released details of the accident that killed Beitel and sent his partner, 25-year-old David Nesheiwat, to a hospital. Doctors said Nesheiwat is expected to make a full recovery.

The officers were leaving a call late Wednesday night when their police cruiser flipped over and caught fire at the intersection of Washington Avenue and Nellis Boulevard.

It’s unknown who was driving, but police said there was no collision with any other vehicles and no one has been charged in the accident.

Beitel, a Silverado High School graduate, had been with Metro police for nearly six years.
