Officer Accused Of Forging Inmate's Record

Salahuddin Placed On Administrative Leave

UPDATED: 2:10 pm PDT October 9, 2009

A 35-year-old North Las Vegas corrections officer is accused of aiding an escape by forging information on a prisoner’s computer record.

Hollis Salahuddin, who had worked at the North Las Vegas Detention Center since 2006, was arrested after an employee at the jail noticed an inmate’s computer record had been changed to “bail provided.”

The inmate, Grant Moore, was being held on a felony warrant from California. Authorities were immediately suspicious because bail is not provided to suspects awaiting extradition out-of-state.

Salahuddin was questioned by police and denied typing “bail provided” into the computer system.

In a police report, Salahuddin said she only knew Moore from the jail and that he asked her about the charges he was facing.

Police said surveillance video showed Salahuddin at a computer terminal at the time the record was changed.

Salahuddin is charged with aiding a prisoner to escape and forgery.
