Police: Teen Murder Suspect 'Hated' Parents

LAS VEGAS -- The Las Vegas teenager accused of plotting his parents’ deaths admitted he “hated his parents and that’s why he wanted to kill them,” police said Friday.In a police report issued to FOX5 Timothy Chester, 18, confessed to planning the killings with his friend, 18-year-old Victor Veliz, following an argument with his family earlier this week.Chester was arrested near the Hoover Dam Thursday, a day after Thomas and Carla Chester were found dead in their home at the Heritage Village Mobile Home Park.Slideshow: Veliz, Chester Family In PhotosThe Clark County Coroner’s Office ruled that Chester’s mother died of a stab wound to the neck. His father, the official said, died of a gunshot wound to the head.Police said Chester and Veliz plotted the killings while walking back to the trailer park Wednesday afternoon. Their plan, according to the police report, was to kill the couple and flee Las Vegas for California and eventually Guatemala.

He surrendered Wednesday after his mother called 911 to report the killings.In Chester’s statement, he said Veliz shot his father, and, as the 57-year-old tried to run into a bedroom, Chester said he shut the door so he couldn’t escape.He then told police he left the trailer in the family’s SUV.Both teens are being held at the Clark County Detention Center, facing charges that include murder, conspiracy, robbery and burglary.
