LAS VEGAS -- In August, the TIME magazine cover story showcased a Las Vegas overwhelmed by crisis, down and out after being bludgeoned by the recession.A month later, there’s another tale to tell. One of prosperity and hope, all hinging on the Strip’s newest jewel: CityCenter.“How One Giant Casino Could Turn Around Vegas” is the title of the article. It’s a slight misrepresentation of the CityCenter project, which is comprised of one casino, a retail center and several massive hotel projects.Related Link: Tough Times Land Vegas On TIME Magazine CoverNevertheless, the magazine recognizes the importance of CityCenter and the 12,000 jobs it will create. The article even credits CityCenter with raising hope among recession-weary Las Vegans, and may win over some who were offended by the August article.
