LAS VEGAS -- Record unemployment, endless foreclosures and a crippling state budget crisis may have all factored in Las Vegas' ranking near the bottom of Children’s Health Magazine’s “100 Best Places To Raise A Family.”The magazine’s debut issue lists Las Vegas at 92, just ahead of Phoenix, Ariz., and Tampa, Fla. Detroit was ranked at No. 100.Survey: Is Las Vegas A Bad Place To Raise A Family?Editors considered more than 30 factors in ranking the survey, including crime and safety, education, economics, housing, cultural attractions and health."I have four wonderful children. They're married to wonderful people. Wonderful grandchildren, good friends -- this is a great place to raise a family," said Mayor Oscar Goodman.Burlington, Vermont, was ranked No.1 on the magazine’s list.A complete list of the cities can be found on the Children’s Health Magazine Web site.
