LAS VEGAS -- The United States' first green charity drive made a pit stop in Las Vegas.The Renew America Roadtrip came to the Valley on Monday, and it brought a pretty hot-looking car.A Silicon Valley-based startup company, Tesla Motors, has managed to create a high-performance sports car that's about as green as it can be. It produces zero emissions, and it’s electric.The cost of running the car is about one-tenth of what a combustion engine automobile costs to drive.“What we're trying to do is tell people green is the new black,” said Maddy Gunawardana, of Renew America Roadtrip.Renew America Roadtrip said the roadster is the first production highway capable electric car built in the U.S. in the past 10 years.
