UNLV President David Ashley was voted out of his position by the Board of Regents Friday afternoon.

Board members voted 10-1 not to renew Ashley’s contract.

Survey: Did David Ashley Deserve To Lose His Job?

Ashley has come under heavy criticism from alumni and University Chancellor Jim Rogers, who said last month he should be fired. Rogers complained about Ashley’s management style and cited concerns about the way his wife was treating university employees.

Ashley signed a four-year contract to run UNLV in 2006, replacing former president Carol Harter.
